From Leadership to Impact: My Role in Service Initiatives at School
Throughout my school years, I have been deeply involved in community service, working both locally and globally to make a meaningful impact. I began my journey as part of the Service Executive Group in Grades 3, 4, 5, and 6, where I played an important role in various service initiatives. In Grade 4, I had the honor of serving as Co-Chair, and in Grades 5 and 6, I continued to contribute as a key member, helping organize activities and lead efforts. My role as a Service Executive Chair in Grade 4 allowed me to contribute to community service efforts and inspire peers to take action.
One of the most fulfilling experiences was my involvement with Mohinga Matters, a charity dedicated to supporting the people of Myanmar. As Chair of Mohinga Matters in Grades 7 and 8, I led discussions and initiatives on important issues, fostering collaboration and engagement among team members. I focused on expanding the reach of the charity, encouraging more students to join the cause. I organized a successful fundraiser, conducted interviews with people from Myanmar to raise awareness, and even published a book to further the mission.
My dedication to the cause didn’t stop there; I worked diligently towards turning Mohinga Matters into a recognized Global Concern (GC), enabling the project to receive broader support and recognition. Through these experiences, I have learned the importance of leadership, teamwork, and creating lasting change for those in need.
From the early age of 3, I have been committed to giving back to society by participating in charity runs and programs aimed at raising funds for the underprivileged. These experiences have instilled in me a deep sense of empathy, responsibility, and the importance of community service. Contributing to meaningful causes from such a young age has shaped my perspective on the impact of collective effort and the power of using my abilities to make a difference.
At the age of 10, I joined a Sustainability Initiative led by older students in my condominium, where I actively participated in organizing newspaper drives as part of an eco-friendly effort. This project aimed to make household recycling more accessible and promote sustainable living among residents. We designed a system that allowed families to recycle effortlessly—no matter how much paper they used. Every Saturday morning, our team would collect newspapers directly from residents' backdoors, ensuring a simple and effective way to contribute to environmental sustainability. Being part of this initiative at a young age not only deepened my understanding of sustainability but also inspired me to take action in building a greener future.
