Dance has always been a part of who I am—born with a natural flair for movement, I have dedicated myself to honing my skills through formal training.
I began my journey with Odissi at the age of 6 and am currently training under the renowned Chitra Shankar. Over the years, I have performed at various prestigious events in Singapore, refining my skills and deepening my understanding of this graceful classical dance. I am preparing for my Manch Pravesh in 2025, a significant milestone that will mark my transition into the world as a professional performer.
Similarly, I started learning Bharatnatyam at the age of 5, taking a brief break before resuming my training at 12. Under the guidance of my passionate teachers, I have grown as a dancer and had the privilege of performing at numerous venues, showcasing my progress in this classical art form. I am preparing for my Arangetram in 2025, marking an important step in my journey as a performer.
Beyond classical dance, I explored Indian contemporary dance, choreographing most of my pieces between the ages of 7 and 11. My foundation in this form was shaped by my training with Tanushree Shankar, one of India’s leading contemporary dancers. Through this, I have blended traditional techniques with modern expressions, creating unique performances that reflect my creativity and passion for movement.
By 2025, I will have completed my Arangetram in both Bharatnatyam and Odissi, stepping onto the stage as a dedicated performer, eager to share my passion and commitment with audiences worldwide.
As a child, I also participated annually in 'Kids Got Talent,' a charity event where I performed every year as a dancer to raise funds for meaningful causes. These experiences, combining my love for dance with a deeper sense of purpose, have taught me the impact that art can have in bringing people together and making a positive difference in the world.
Music has been an inseparable part of my life since an early age. Anyone who knows me can attest to the fact that I eat, drink, and sleep music—it is woven into the very fabric of who I am. My journey began at the age of 5 when I started training in Hindustani classical music under the guidance of Tanuja Sane. Her mentorship has been instrumental in shaping my vocal abilities, helping me master ragas, refine my understanding of rhythm and melody, and develop a deep appreciation for the rich heritage of Indian classical music. I am currently preparing for my Arangetram in 2025, a milestone that will mark my growth and dedication to this art form.
Beyond classical training, my passion for music took root in school when I joined the choir in K2. Throughout primary and middle school, I had the privilege of being the lead singer in the rock band, an experience that allowed me to explore different genres and gain confidence in live performances. I was also honored to perform at the IFC choir event at SOTA, further expanding my exposure to diverse musical styles.
Alongside these experiences, I enjoy experimenting with my voice by creating song covers and reels, where I showcase my vocal versatility and creativity. Whether performing on stage or recording in my own space, music continues to be my greatest passion—one that I am excited to nurture and share with the world.
