Dance has always been one of the most powerful forms of expression in my life. Trained in Indian classical styles such as Odissi and Bharatanatyam under the guidance of Guru Chitra Shankar, a respected and internationally acclaimed dancer, I have developed a deep appreciation for tradition, discipline, and the art of storytelling through movement. In Odissi and Bharatnatyam, I have completed my Arangapravesh, a debut solo performance that marks a dancer’s readiness to perform professionally after years of rigorous training. This milestone reflects not only technical skill but also the maturity and confidence to convey emotion and narrative through dance.
My passion for dance inspired me to take it as a subject in high school, where I was able to deepen my training and explore my artistic voice further.
Alongside classical training, I have explored Indian contemporary dance, training for a year under Tanusree Shankar, one of the leading exponents of the form, which deepened my understanding of innovation, fluidity, and narrative through movement. I have also trained in Western styles including contemporary, jazz, and ballet, allowing me to grow as a versatile performer who values both technique and artistic expression.
Beyond the stage, I strongly believe in using art with purpose. Through various dance performances at fundraising events and initiatives for meaningful causes, I have experienced how performance can bring communities together and create real impact. For me, dance is not just an art form. It is a way to connect, contribute, and inspire.
