In Bharatnatyam and Odissi
On 29 August 2026, I celebrated a very special milestone in my dance journey — my Arangetram (also called Arang Pravesh) in Bharatanatyam and Odissi. After years of dedicated training, learning, and performing, this three-hour-long presentation was a culmination of my journey in both classical dance forms and an opportunity to share my passion for dance with an audience of around 300 people.
The evening was made even more meaningful by the presence of Mr. Piyush Gupta, former CEO of DBS, who graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour and encouraged me on this important milestone.
What made the event especially close to my heart was that it was transformed into a fundraiser for Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore, allowing my celebration to also contribute to a meaningful cause. Bringing together my love for dance and the opportunity to give back made the evening much more than a performance.
From months of rehearsals and preparation to finally stepping onto the stage, the Arang Pravesh taught me the importance of discipline, perseverance, dedication, and commitment. Performing both Bharatanatyam and Odissi allowed me to celebrate the different traditions, expressions, and styles that have shaped me as a dancer.
More than just a formal debut, my Arang Pravesh was a celebration of my journey so far — made possible by the guidance of my gurus, the support of my family and friends, and everyone who stood beside me throughout this journey. It marked the completion of an important chapter in my dance journey while inspiring me to continue learning, performing, and growing as a dancer.
